Very unfriendly service, we don't go there anymore

Very tasty food, inexpensive, very friendly service, beautiful location

I drove here extra on recommendation: The potato soup was tiny and practically tasteless. The beans with jerky meat and garlic sausage, however, were very tasty. Overall, however, not necessarily a place to recommend, especially since the competition is very strong here in Franconia.

After the hike, ideal for a stop. You can't go wrong there

Down-to-earth without a lot of Chichi, great view in summer from the terrace and the best starting point for Walberla tours all year round. Franconia at its best. ?

Unfortunately, relatively unfriendly. At 6:45 p.m. they didn't want to offer us any more food on a Sunday evening. The second drink was no longer brought even though it was ordered. Ambience good, food okay. But nothing more.

After a long time we went back to the Walberla restaurant yesterday. We weren't used to particularly good service before, but yesterday it was a catastrophe in terms of organization. Not a nice reception, we should just choose a free table, but none of the free tables was cleared or cleaned. After about ten minutes we could finally sit down. We were able to order quickly; others had to wait a long time. The friendliness of the service staff and the owner couple was not given, especially with the latter. The boss also almost exclusively walked around with the mask on his neck, also at the table with the guests. He was also not really understanding when he was approached by other guests. The food came relatively quickly with us, but only the sauce of the sauerbraten and the french fries was really hot, but not the meat, which was just lukewarm. The sauce was OK, the sauerbraten meat quite firm. Schnitzel, except temperature, OK. Other guests then waited more than twenty minutes before they could finally pay. They were disregarded several times. They would not have waited any longer. The hosts weren't allowed to complain if their guests had left without paying. If you put everything together, there is unfortunately no reason for us to ever go back to this inn, even if the prices for the location are still quite ok. It seems as if you think that the location alone makes a good inn ... Unfortunately, no recommendation from us at all. :-( That's a real shame, because you could actually make something good out of it! And only afterwards did we realize that we had only added up the food and drinks on a piece of paper and that we did not receive a proper receipt at all. Apparently the other guests felt the same way. Whether you have properly booked the income in the cash register and taxed it must at least be doubted ...

Everything was great service, food, price ... and, best of all, the weather ☀️ We'd love to come back ?

Really not to be recommended ... The service seemed very unmotivated, the table was assigned to us without a word, the menu was just clapped around, not a minute later we were asked what we wanted ... that the kitchen was ready at 19 I found the clock closing very incomprehensible, but we were just in time, other guests were sent away again .. when the food was served, the waitress didn't notice that we didn't have any cutlery, this came only on request. The Jägerschnitzel was canned with mushrooms, the meat too salty, the salad too watery .. We weren't asked whether everything was okay .. with the prices we would have expected significantly more!

Unfortunately you can't assign a star ...... Just terrible service and food.

The service is a joke! After 15 minutes it was pointed out that we would like to order something and then answered very cheeky and rolled our eyes! That's not possible

Disastrous service! After 10 minutes we received 2 menus for 6 people. The drinks only came after a quarter of an hour. We have been waiting for the meal for an hour. (The restaurant is not fully occupied) Update: The food came in the meantime, but only on request, was okay. Cutlery was brought to the courts. There are now only empty glasses on the table. There was no question as to whether we would like to have another drink. Very weak. Overall really not to be recommended ...

We had to wait for our meal for over an hour without further explanation. There was only a shrug from the waitress. That can be done much better! The food itself was okay, even if with a hefty tourist tax.

Food was good to very good, service not: impersonal, always had to draw attention to us, beautiful view. Would only recommend it to a limited extent.

You can hardly describe that :-(. Should you have experienced it yourself, but I advise against it. Wanted to eat an ice cream on the terrace after our wonderful hike on Walberla. At first we were absolutely ignored when we waited according to the regulations at the stairs and registered (all Corona rules observed) we were there. The waitress passed us without looking at us. We were close to going. There were enough tables on the terrace, but most of them had dirty dishes. The service was totally bored and unmotivated. We haven't seen anything like it before. It would be a shame otherwise it would be really nice there. After what felt like an eternity, another woman came and said we were allowed to sit at the free table to take . The waitress then passed us haphazardly until she put the menu on the table and immediately asked what we wanted. We would like the ice cream menu. It came immediately and we ordered four different sundaes and despite writing down one came the wrong one Inconceivably . Ice cream was good but we won't come back. At the time we were sitting there were about seven tables free and people were queuing at the entrance because they were ignored just like us. Just ask me why the boss doesn't intervene.

Very disappointing! We reserved for 8 people and NOTHING was prepared. You really don't want to celebrate a birthday like this. First of all, we should split ourselves up on different tables. We then quickly took over the pushing together ourselves. The condition was very unfriendly and unreasonable. The food, which is still quite good, unfortunately cannot compensate for the poor service. The food was carelessly placed in the middle and after everyone finally had their food, it was no longer necessary to stop by the guests. It's a shame, but we will definitely not see the restaurant anymore and if it continues like this, several people will certainly see it that way ....

Everything looked a bit unprofessional, until drinks came and food was served, it took a long time. For a small cup of potato soup over € 4, I think it's a bit nice. But it tasted good.

Operation and service very bad. The lady was very slow to ignorant and forgets a lot. At least one would like to have money for food and drinks that were not brought. Because booking into the cash register worked. Food was ok but not a highlight. There is no thank you for tips and since the lady didn't have enough change to give out, she simply increases the tip herself.

Highly typical Franconian food. Good beer and great view. Make the walk up to the rock. It's nice ?

Was here as part of a large group. We arrived before our reservation time but we were able to be accomodated at other tables. The service was prompt even though it was very busy. The food was good and the price was reasonable.

I ate steak and this time I ordered a double one. The boss himself came to the table with the raw piece of meat to ask me if it fits the size. I'm excited! You can tell that they are trying very hard to please their guests! And I think that's great, where else can you find something like that today ?! Conclusion if you value high quality food a cozy family atmosphere, then go there :) Please continue!!!

After several visits always positively impressed. Nice location as a base for hiking or to rest afterwards. Beautiful view from the guest room and the terrace over the Franconian Switzerland. Good beer, delicious seasonal food. Price performance very reasonable. Friendly host!

Great service for foreigners, language is an issue but overall great service

A classical end of the ninrties food place with all the pluspoints and no minuspoints. Really nice food, local fayre, decent prices, large portions, all served with a smile. No problems with extrarequests, even games and boardgames available at no cost. Perfectly located at the psrking spsce to the Walberla.
